Colored Paper Art
View AllPaper is a paradox: strong yet fragile.
It is reflection of life and nature itself: durable, and able to carry deepest thoughts and ideas, yet so fragile that it can be teared apart by a single move, and burned away by a single spark of fire.
When layered, it mimics layers of existence, layers of experience, layers of consciousness.
Paper speaks to me not only as a medium, but as a symbol. Born from trees, placed by hand, it bridges nature and expression. Through it, I explore inner worlds: psychedelic, mystical, spiritual - sometimes serene, other times anxious.
I draw my art digitally (nowadays mostly in Procreate), then translate it into vector form, split to layers and prepare the files for laser cutting. Each layer is cut from heavyweight paper (200–500 g/m²), then carefully positioned, glued and assembled into a cohesive whole.
Creating these pieces offers meditation, a quiet flow, it is a ritual, requiring focus, and offering peace.
Metamorphs
View AllMetamorphs is an ongoing series of layered paper works.
I intentionally made it monochrome, in a range from black to white, not to remove emotions, but to quiet them.
In black and white, there is no distraction, only space to perceive.
To see clearly.
To feel what rises.
Are they guardians… or intruders?
Watching over… or watching through?
Using only shades of grey, I tried to create a timeless, minimalist atmosphere that strips away the distraction and emotion of color, emphasizing form, texture, and contrast.
Black and white have always been symbols of dualities: light and dark, presence and absence, simplicity and complexity.
I see the patterns and spirits caught in these works as reflections of the patterns and spirits of nature.
And just as I see nature as neither good nor bad (it simply is), so are the patterns in these pieces.
Forms and figures surface from the invisible world, the subconscious and metaphysical.
Their purpose is not to charm, but to remind of invisible yet persistent, existing in the space around us. Of life and death, reality and dream, hope and delusion.
Shadow Lamps
View AllI also made a number of shadow lamps.
I started making these lamps in 2014, and they were sold under the name Pranaya design so far.
They can also be found in my Etsy shop: PranayaDesign
I doubt I'll be making any new models, but I will keep and offer them on this web page for a while longer.
